This is a very informative site for all Motorhome information. If you visit the site you can read comments made about BioMagic in their forum. You can read these for free but if you wish to join in any of the discussions then there is a £10.00 a year fee. Its worth a look!
Sometimes, people fill their fresh water tanks with diesel by mistake! Normally this is an expensive strip-down of tank and pipe work. However, BioMagic can help. For the price of a 1-litre bottle and a little effort your water system can be made as good as new again with no taste or smell of diesel. Read this report from Mr. Bob Jones.
Hi Alex, By now you've probably read the thread on the Motorhome Facts forum and have been able to share with me the traumatic week following my glorious muck-up when I managed to put diesel into my fresh water tank in my newly acquired motorhome. I'd like to thank you and BioMagic for coming to my rescue. I asked for solutions on the forum and solutions I got! From 'Mr Muscle' to degreasing agents - and even to orange squash! And then of course the advice to, check out BioMagic. Your website was very informative and most importantly, believable – it was clearly apparent that this product actually worked. I talked to you and you were most helpful. I was particularly impressed by your obvious complete confidence in the effectiveness of BioMagic and it was this that convinced me that this was the solution I had been seeking. The results speak for themselves. There is now no trace of diesel left in the fresh water system. I cannot smell or taste any trace of it whatsoever. Thank you again. BioMagic is a very effective product, and we will be needing another bottle shortly. However I do need a bit of advice. We use a Portapotti 365 which is airtight. The biological combustion produces carbon dioxide of course, and the holding tank tends to swell up in an alarming fashion. The other day when I went to pull the slide back it released the pressure explosively in my face! Not very nice. Is there any modification one of your customers might have made to release the pressure in a controlled way? There is a button on top intended to let air in whilst emptying, but one hot afternoon when I tried letting the gas out, I also got blasted with you know what. From a new user of BioMagic Dear Alex Whilst I remain uncertain whether or not cost for cost per unit matches the same money for volume of formldehyde, I am writing to say that your product seems to work a lot better anyway. I have lived on a boat for nearly six years, and the only aspect of the life afloat not to have delighted me totally, has been the off-grid need to cart and tip boxes full of poo. To date this has often resulted in strenuous control of the gag reflex. The BioMagic product seems to render human waste much less sulphidey and noxious, but nonetheless still erghmm, savoury. Have you any further tips or advice to improve the oxygenation / nitrogenous effect to the point of the near odourlessness suggested on your website? Hi John, From your email I am assuming that you are not entirely happy with the results your are getting from using BioMagic.
First the cost has to be higher that any formaldehyde based products. To give you an idea, I can purchase 1000-litres of formaldehyde for £450.00 while the same amount of BioMagic concentrate imported from California by us costs over £3000.00. That simple fact means that we will never be able to compete on a cost only basis.
The affect that BioMagic has on raw sewage is not something that has been determined by man, it is not a process that has been invented by a chemist! It is simply a law of nature.
When the so called friendly bacteria,
(also known as facultative bacteria due to their ability to change state from anaerobic to aerobic in the presence of oxygen), are presented with an abundance of oxygen they will elect to become aerobic. They only adopt an anaerobic state when starved of oxygen, this makes them much slower at digesting waste matter and causes them to produce hydrogen sulphide as a result.
Once oxygen is introduced in a form that they can access, they will elect to become aerobic. In the aerobic state they become more active, multiply faster, eat more and cease production of hydrogen sulphide.
SO, as long as the oxygen level remains high, they will remain in this state and produce odourless carbon dioxide instead of the foul smelling sulphide. This suggests that if there is still a pong either from your tank, or from the emptying vessel then the oxygen level at that stage has all been consumed and as fallen too low to support aerobic digestion. The bacteria have simply reverted to the anaerobic state again for lack of oxygen and are again producing sulphide! They are shouting to you that they need more oxygen, "Please feed me Dad."
It would seem then that the effect is directly proportional to the amount of oxygen i.e. BioMagic, in the waste. In simple terms this means you need to add more BioMagic.
It is also important to make sure that all solid waste is covered completely in a mixture of water and BioMagic and please remember that if the toilet is used for urine only, this is a sterile liquid and needs bacteria to be added, as described on the website, before any odour control can take place. Our advise to add 50-ml of BioMagic at least every three days is the very minimum quantity for the very maximum time limit.
We had to try to establish the best we could hope for and when certain conditions are right, this is possible. However, all sorts of variable come into play with living things. Temperature plays a big part in this, when it is cold all bacterial activity slows down so digestion of waste under any conditions will be slower.
Some forms of medication will also slow down digestion especially those containing broad spectrum antibiotics which are designed to kill ALL bacteria. You have to remember that you are dealing with a living colony of organisms down there so anything that you can do to keep them healthy is to your advantage, you need to feed them just like you feed the soil of your most treasured flowers.
I hope this rather long explanation will go a long way to a better understanding of these scatological problems.

As I mentioned, even at dosing rates probably more akin to the ‘bloo’ formaldehyde habit, BioMagic has already made that aspect of life considerably less unpleasant, and we shall be recommending the product to our friends. Dear Alex, RE: ENVIROLET COMPOSTING TOILET I have just had a look at your revised web site and noticed that you now sell "double strength" Bio Magic. This makes the product much more flexible and attractive. When I have reduced my 500ml dose bottles (Regular strength) I will be changing over to the "new" product. I though I would drop you a line and tell you that your Bio-magic has made my composting toilet a great success, as it increases the oxygen and speeds up the composting process. This is what I do, which makes things SO SUCCESSFUL. Mix up (Regular strength) Bio-Magic 75ml-BM in a 1-litre BM bottle, then fill the bottle with water. I use a good dose of this from the "squeezy" BM plastic bottle every time I use the loo for "solids" I use the "Compost enzymes" for making compost mixed in warm water (1-tablespoonful to 0.3-litres water),aprox., every 14-days but this does vary when I forget! (Note: I have always used the Envirolet branded product but I have the same results using standard compost accelerator from B & Q.) After I have "serviced" the toilet and started off from "new" again, I mix up 0.5- litre of luke warm water, 2.5ml Bio-Magic and 2-Tablespoonfulls of any "live" yoghurt. I empty this into the base (In my case a plastic tray within the unit). This starts the composting process with "sterile" urine which does not activate without the live yoghurt. If I am at a rally or boat gathering with lots of people milling around, to ensure that the toilet vent doesn’t discharge an unpleasant odour, from the vent stack, I increase the strength of the BM mix by adding a further 25ml to an I-litre bottle. (i.e. 100ml instead of 75ml). This has been extremely successful for me and I was previously unable to achieve the excellent results without use of Bio-Magic. I always make sure that the "mass" or composting material STAYS DAMP TO WETTISH. This is achieved by keeping an eye on it and adjusting the dose of the "squeezy" bottle of mix. Should you have any queries regarding Bio-Magic for composting toilets, you may use any or all of the content of this letter. You may also pass on my e-mail address, if a prospective customer wants to contact me direct before purchasing. I can then confirm my success story and even perhaps give positive advice. Hello you may recall that we visited your stand at the NEC in Oct-06 when we had a problem with a smell when using BioMagic. You gave us some good advice and a bottle of BioMagic with instructions to use 1/2 bottle in the cassette and fill with water, as we have two cassettes I used 1/2 in each and I am glad to say all bad smells are now gone. I left the cassettes standing full of water and BioMagic for about 24 hours, I have also stopped charging my cassette up until my morning of departure instead of a few days before. Hi folks, this just came in from a young lady, who had a problem that we now know many users have experienced!
Many of you did not add water to the bottom tank before adding the 50-ml of BioMagic.
If only 50-ml of BioMagic is added to the bottom tank without water then the waste cannot be contacted, as the small amount will simply run to one side and do nothing.
BioMagic oxygenates the water and this water then has to come into direct contact with the waste otherwise it cannot oxygenate the facutative bacteria that lives in the waste.
The result will be a pongy loo like Jenny had.

Hi Alex Sorry I'm a bit late replying but we have been away for two weeks. Well when we first used biomagic we washed out all the remaining blue chemical and then added the biomagic, wrong move!!! after three days we added more as instructed. Well the smell just became unbearable and hence I sent you an e-mail. As soon as I received your reply I added the water and hey presto the smell was gone instantly. We have pumped our toilet out whilst on our
journey and put the water in first and then added the biomagic and we have been very pleased with the results. I also used the spray bottle as you suggested and the only smells we get now are nice one's. Thankyou very much for your help and we will continue to use your product.

A 136 foot Gaff Topsail schooner “Bill of Rights” The boat has six separate holding tanks for gray water and sewage, as well as three actively wet bilges. I bought a 1 litre bottle of Bio Magic from you at the Bath & West Caravan show last September, never quite believing if it will work, i have now been using it since January and it really is a great product, being an Asthmatic when using the conventional blue liquid it will start an attack, so i am now telling everyone that they should use this product, i have also contacted two local caravan dealers, i did go up to the NEC this last weekend but could not find you.
i would like to place an order for my own personal use and also for my companies hospitality unit, do you do 2 litre bottles.I spend quite a bit of my spare time doing mainly car shows and now caravan dealers showing Audio equipment and i think once people can see the benefits of Bio Magic especially dealers then i think it will become a top seller.

We have now started using Biomagic in our motorhome toilet cassette and we have also used it to clean out or grey water tank, so far we are most impressed.
Can the product be used in the toilet flush tank and if so how do we go about this.
What quantity should we use per tank ??
Does the residue of the other products we have used need to be flushed out, bearing in mind that we cannot drain and clean the tank as we have with done with our cassette.

I purchased a container of Bio Magic at the February NEC show, I used it for the first time last weekend, I was disappointed with the result when emptying my toilet. I did however continue to use my pink flush in the header tank, could this be the problem.

I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the results that you had from using Biomagic.
Your problem will most definitely be due to using the pink flush in your top tank at the same time as BioMagic in the bottom tank. The pink flush may contain biocides or an antibacterial agent which is designed to kill all bacteria, including the friendly bacteria that BioMagic stimulates and feeds. Once these good bacteria are dead they can no longer work so using any other chemicals with BioMagic is a waste of time and money. Please flush out both top and bottom tank with fresh water.
Add about 2-litres of fresh water to the bottom tank and use twice the amount of BioMagic as you would normally do, 100-ml.Then fill your top tank with fresh water and add 50-ml of BioMagic to that as well. This means that each time you flush, a little BioMagic will swill the bowl and seals to keep them clean and lubricated. It does say on the bottle, on the fact sheet and in the brochure, not to use any other chemicals when using BioMagic. Good luck with your next attempt as using this great product.

I have only been using the product you sent me and at this time have not tried any of the old product I purchased. I intend to do that , but we are so happy with the way it is working we don't want to break the cycle... I also intend to reduce the volume to 60 mls in the bottom tank and perhaps a similar amount in the top tank. I would like to say a big thank you to you. I purchased a 1 Litre bottle of BioMagic off your stand at the National motorhome Show, Peterborough. I must admit I was sceptical as to whether the product would perform as claimed until I put it to the test. I had a blockage from the grey water tank in my Motor Caravan and was concerned that I may have strip down the pipework to clear, that would have been a daunting job out on site. I need not have worried, using BioMagic in the quantities advised and left overnight did the job. You can imagine my relief when I opened the grey water outlet the next morning and it drained normally with no foul odour
I am now a committed user and will keep a bottle handy in my Motor Caravan at all times
